Pre-school Program

At Écolita, we want every single child to be happy. Since little ones cannot always express their needs, it is especially important that our educators be empathetic and listen with their ears, their eyes, and especially their hearts.

Our goal is to help each child develop a love of learning while having fun. We work on developing the Whole Child by presenting students with as many experiences as they need to be well-balanced. Since each child learns and develops in different ways and at a different pace, we make sure that each child is provided with materials or equipment for his or her level so as not to be overwhelmed or bored.

In order to build a strong foundation for later academic learning, many skills are introduced in a fun way. For example, children are given numerous opportunities to develop their fine motor skills by simply scribbling, threading buttons onto laces, singing songs while moving their fingers, etc. They develop logical thinking by predicting what may happen in a given situation or being asked to come up with solutions. Mathematical skills are introduced to students when they work on puzzles, sequence ideas or items, and natural counting that occurs in every day life.

Even at a very young age, Écolita pre-schoolers are encouraged to become good caring citizens. We use every possible teachable moment to give our children the chance to become aware of other people’s feelings and needs. We discuss empathy, sympathy, and respect in addition to asking our little ones what they think they can each do to help out in their own way. Besides learning to say “please” and “thank you”, students learn what it means to live in a community and wait their turn without becoming upset. To sum it all up, our main goal at Écolita Trilingue is for children to learn and develop at their own pace in a happy and supportive environment.
